Here's to Infinity and Beyond - Three Years!

Monday, May 23rd Ryan and I celebrated our 3rd Wedding Anniversary. While three years may seem small, to us it seems like a lifetime. In fact, I can't even imagine my life without my sweetheart. The past three years have taught us innumerable lessons on patience, life, but most importantly love. I am grateful for the past three years, but, here's to infinity and beyond!

In addition to this little gem, to celebrate our special day, I decided to make the same breakfast we had at the quaint bed and breakfast that we stayed in while on our Honeymoon in Nauvoo.

And as I've searched the blog, I realize I never even posted about our Honeymoon in the early blogging days, so...

Before we got married, Ryan asked how I would feel about going to Nauvoo for our Honeymoon, I loved it. At the time, I was not thrilled by the beach and cruise bandwagon--I mean really being in a bathing suit is awkward enough as it is... add skimping around in one all day long with your new hubby and awkward doesn't even begin to describe it. (I was however all for it one year later.)

So, the morning after we got married, we flew to St. Louis, MO, rented a little Yaris, and drove to a darling bed and breakfast right on the Mississippi River in Keokuk, Iowa. Unfortunately, we forgot our cameras, so we bought a disposable one... classic.

Hot and muggy.

Ryan and I in the Yaris -- he still wants one of those little cars to this day.

As part of our trip we visited Hannibal, MO (birthplace and home of
Mark Twain) and road the river boat

Anyway, to celebrate our anniversary this year, I decided to be ambitious and make the pecan french toast with vanilla creme and raspberry glaze along with a delicious baked peach oatmeal that we had in Keokuk.

It. Was. Delicious.

Yum. Yum. Yum.

I say ambitious because I made homemade French bread and because it was an over-night recipe, but it turned out so well! (I even made it again that weekend for a Relief Society brunch!)

I woke up early on Monday to make sure everything was ready to go and Ryan and I sat down to this.

Of course we didn't want to go to school and work, but we're "grown ups" now, so we headed back to life.

Later for lunch, Ryan showed up and said he was taking me on a spontaneous romantic lunch date (my wonderful mother-in-law was in town for the day watching Adi, so Ryan and I could go!). He took me to our special place, La Dolce Vita, where we went the night we decided to get married. It was so yummy. I love, love, love their Spinach Ravioli.

After lunch we went back to work and school, or so I thought. Little did I know, Ryan went and picked up these...

And went to Lowe's for flowers to fill my pots...

I will admit I felt guilty that Ryan had had so many wonderful surprises, and all I had up my sleeves had been previously disclosed. He is definitely a keeper, and most definitely My Love. My Life. My Best Friend.
