O Come, Emmanuel

After the creator of the heavens and earth was brought forth to lay in a humble manger, the angel of the Lord visited shepherds who were keeping watch over their flocks that night. That impact of the visit of heavenly messengers and news of good tidings of great joy led those shepherds to go to Bethlehem with haste to visit the Christ child. There thy found Mary, Joseph, and the baby as described by the angel of the Lord. 

Christmas allows us to ponder these things, as did Mary, in our hearts. But as we ponder the birth of our Savior, his mortal ministry and atonement, let us also be like the shepherds and share this knowledge broadly, glorifying and praising God for all we have heard, seen, and felt (Luke 2:20).
