A Child's Prayer

When I was a little girl and would sleep over at my maternal Grandmother's house, she used to recite a little poem in the mornings about prayer to help her remember to say her prayers.

I've googled, searched, and racked my memory to try and remember it, but to no avail.

So, in an effort to teach Adrielle about the importance of prayer, I penned my own version. Now here's to the remembering in the morning part!

When I wake I roll onto my knees, I bow my head and say thank you and please.
I thank Heavenly Father for blessings He sends, and asks for His spirit to freely lend.
I ask for protection, for kindness, and love. For patience and virtue from Heaven above.

I start my day with prayer you see, to be the best me I can possibly be.

Didn't know I had a fellow poet in you? That is very sweet.
