Why I Blog

I thoroughly enjoy blogging. Sometimes I just wish I had more time.

Or perhaps... sometimes I just wish I managed my time better.

Either way, I love it. I document our lives, my likes, dislikes, struggles, successes, and thoughts about life. It's a release, a soap box; my own personal (well, 'our' to be more exact) canvas and small piece of the world.

But, it's just that. Mine. (Or ours.)

Often my blogging inspiration comes from the social world around me. I notice differences in societal behavior, values, and principles and analyze them. But, being an extrovert, I need to "communicate" them... to no one in particular. Ryan is such a good listener and without fail lends a listening ear, but sometimes it's nice to just get it out there. Especially when it's important to me. I like the quote from President Gordon B. Hinckley:

"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be only significant to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experience.

He puts 'journaling' so nicely. And that is what our blog has become to me; my personal journal. Our history. Our journey.

The thing is that the journey's not perfect. It's flawed and rugged, disappointing at times and frustrating at others. And, I hope that when I document those points in life that aren't funny or spiritual, that others will pause and realize this is my way to "communicate" them... to no one in particular.

Did I mention I really enjoy blogging?

I agree! That's why I love blogging too. I was just thinking about how it's almost better than keeping a personal journal since you can post pictures and videos. You will really appreciate it someday.
