I've come to the conclusion that it's really up to the patient. If they believe that a prolonged life will bring them happiness, then I will do everything in my power to make sure that their life is prolonged as long as possible while trying to help provide quality to living. If they refuse treatment, I would try to help them retain life quality as they exit this mortal existence.
I am grateful to have the peace of the knowledge that we are spiritual beings having a mortal experience on this earth (not mortal beings having a spiritual experience). This tragic and happy life is not the end, there is so much more and so much more room to progress; so much more happiness to be lived.
