Marathon-ing

Marathons, and races in general, are very strange things. They mess with your mind and make you want to do things, uncomfortable things, terrible things -- like run 26.3 miles. And if that is not enough, you can pay a lot to do it.

Exhibit A: I finish my first marathon. The look on my face says, "Why did I do that to myself? That was terrible! Can I feel my legs?"

Exhibit B: Two seconds after the first picture and the look on my face says, "When can I do that again?"

Point proven. However, I will rest my case with a final argument.

Exhibit C: Confirmation for the Marine Corps Marathon this October. I deferred last year because our situation didn't exactly permit us to go back across the country again after moving expenses and starting school.

And this isn't the only long race I have planned between now and then...

I know what you mean! I'm always in so much pain after running a marathon but ironically want to do another one. Good luck in your training! I'm sure you'll do awesome.
