The "Accident"

The second day of moving (November 21st) was a lot less stressful than the first, but it entailed spending more time actually up and about on my feet...
And because of all the stress, later that night I started having some cramps and lower back pain. I laid down to see if it would all go away, but thirty minutes later they were just getting worse. I called OB emergency at the U, and they asked us to come up to make sure everything was okay.
Unfortunately, on the way to the hospital on a street in Salt Lake, a girl essentially ran a stop sign and hit us. Luckily, Ryan had seen that she wasn't going to stop, so he slowed down and when she actually hit us we were only going about 10 mph. This was (and currently is) the state of the car...
Basically, it was only a fender bender, but we called the police and because I was pregnant they sent the whole shebang: police, fire, ambulance. Well, it was a little chilly, but despite that, I go into shock easily. I basically started shaking, my teeth started chattering, and I was an all-around basket case.
The EMTs checked my vitals and recommended that I ride in the ambulance to the hospital because I am 'high risk', but I was absolutely not going to go with them. My in-laws were on their way, and I was fine--I had moments of sanity.
After all was said and done, I was mortified and embarrassed that I had been so shaken up by some little fender bender. Oh well, I'm grateful that I won't have to ever see those people again.
Anyway, we made it to the hospital, but now that I had been in a "motor vehicle accident" they had to admit me for at least 4 hours, run all sorts of tests, and possibly observe me for 23 hours. Come to find out the cramping had been because of stress, dehydration, and being on my feet to much. Note to self: take it easy.
The good that came out of this however was that I didn't have a panic attack when they took my blood! Yay! And, like my ear infection a few months ago, the doctor found a minor complication that could be taken care of with a weeks' dosage of antibiotics that wouldn't have been done otherwise.
So, all-in-all my first (and last I might add) car accident wasn't bad, just a little embarrassing.
