And realized how much these shoes reminded me of my cousin Jana. When I was a Freshman in college, she and Brittany had a sleepover at their parents' in Draper. I was staying there before I went home for some holiday or another and loved spending time with them. (In high school I had basically wanted to be Jana, and tried to copy her intuitive sense of style.) That weekend, Jana (maybe for birthday) got a pair of black patent-leather pointy pumps. I wanted to be just like her. I wanted some. It wasn't until recently that I realized these looked pretty similar. Good weekend. Great nostalgic memory.
Gotta love her.

It's funny what memories stand out. Jana always did have cute shoes. I always wanted to be like Jana too (and truthfully, I still do!). She is an amazing person.
