Call us tourists, but we love the sites around D.C. There's nothing like a nice stroll along the National Mall on a nice summer evening. This type of evening happens to be a novelty this year with record temps - especially last week.
We started with a photo op with the Capitol.
Very nice.
* Sorry for the blurry faces, we tend to use the lesser of our cameras when we're out and about because it's the one we keep in the diaper bag.
Then a power nap by the Smithsonian Castle.
And still napping all the way to the Washington Monument.
But don't worry, Adi woke up in time to see the view of the Lincoln Memorial and the Reflection Pool from the Washington Monument.

And a nice tourist took a touristy family picture of us.
I love these girls.
Since the weather was so great, we sat on some of the benches around the Washington Monument and just enjoyed the surroundings and being there together.
Adi discovered the flags flapping in the wind.
And we couldn't resist snapping a shot of her state of wonder.
This picture inspires me to do my part to continue to make this nation great, as those who have passed before us have done. I hope that she will one day understand the significance of the flag and be proud to live in this great country.
And a great time was had by all.
We're definitely going to have to make these outings a regular occurrence.
