Thank Goodness for Good Friends

I hate Mondays. 8:00am class comes too early, and I often end up making us late. This morning, was no different. I woke up at 5:30am to finish reading and get ready in time to make our 8:00am classes. Yet again, we were late. I hate being late, and it often translates into low self-esteem and frustration on Monday mornings. Today I became more and more frustrated as the minutes turned into hours, and 8:00am came and went before we made it to our seats for class.

It is so frustrating! But, today I had a nice pick me up from this gorgeous girl:

Alison.

Alison is a fellow MPA student who exemplifies a Christ-like life. She is kind, caring, humble, and prayerful. She is a light to those in darkness, and is one of my (if not the) best friends in the program. This morning, she surprised me with a sweet note and delicious cookies! It was the highlight of my day, and something totally unexpected.

Now as I sit here, frustrated, emotional, and discouraged once again, the small act of kindness that Alison performed serves as a light and piece of happiness... thank goodness for good friends.
