McKenzie and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary on Saturday, May 23, 2009! We can't believe that a year has passed since we were married in the Salt Lake City Temple! We often wish that we could re-live that day, but are amazed at how much better our marriage gets as time passes.
We decided to keep the day simple. We got something to eat and went to the Washington, DC Temple. (Definitely one of our favorites.)
I can't believe how blessed I am to be married to my best friend. I am so grateful for McKenzie, her love, support, insight, humor, and affection. I never thought I could love her more than the day we were sealed, but I am amazed at how much more I love her every day.
I heard that first year anniversary gifts are paper. I guess because as the fibers in paper are intertwined, so has become our lives. Our two lives are now one. We decided on a pretty cool paper gift that we will have to wait a little while for, but we're so excited! Happy Anniversary again, sweetheart!
