Dreaming of a White Christmas

Remember how in November we had multiple winter storms pass through Utah?

The Binx built her first snowman using tomatoes from the garden.

And when I went for a run, I felt like a bobsled dog pushing that stroller with Adi mushing me along the trail.

And with snowmen towering over me along campus, I was sure we were in for a long, wet winter.

But yesterday, the three-month outlook appeared dismal for those dreaming of a white Christmas.

The images predicted it was going to be warmer with equal chances of being wet or dry (aka, they have no idea).

This is completely uncharacteristic for me, but after last year's brown Christmas and summer wild fires, I'm praying for some snow this year.
And a lot of it.
Feel free to join me.

Trick-or-Treating

Since Binx couldn't be trusted to know what exactly she wanted to be for Halloween, we took a costume and back-up costumes to grandma and grandpa's house, just in case. (She was convinced she was going to be a cat for a while, then a princess. Finally, we were like, whatever, we have both costumes and she can decide when the time comes.)

She actually ended up being the pink princess who turned people into frogs.

Contemplating over a sucker.

Lately, this Binx has been trying her best to teach me patience and to slow down. She stopped and talked with other kids (she was obsessed with this little girl dressed up like Merida from Brave), looked at every pumpkin and decoration, and got sidetracked by toys left out.

Here she found a little bike that she wanted to ride.

She evaded capture until the bitter end.

Maybe she should try asking Santa for a bike for Christmas. She might have more luck with that than trying to take someone else's. But if she continues trying to take other's bikes, she might not have luck with Santa, either.

Binx may have taught me to stop and enjoy the experience by the end. At the end of our route, I noticed this pumpkin saw this pumpkin. Kenz has a cousin whose family made a birthday cake with this saying on it. We don't know what it means, but apparently it's from a computer game and apparently, the cake is a lie.

Tuesdays

Kenz is teaching the second block of a class on Tuesday nights, which means Binx and I can get a treat hang around campus for a little while we wait for her to finish.

Last night, we decided to hang around the JFSB courtyard.

The ice cream was supposed to be a secret...

Oops...

She got some wiggles out.

After class was out, Binx had to try out the big desks. I'm sure we're going to miss these Indian summer nights when it gets cold. Either that, or we'll enjoy the Christmas lights on campus with warmer treats.

Provo River Trail: iPhone Edition

The Provo River Trail is amazing in autumn.

The leaves, the lights, the smell of fall.

Baby snakes... maybe not our favorite, but they kept Adi in the running stroller.

The Halloween decorations along the river.

And Adi's favorite: the ducks.

Highlights from the iPhone

A few photo highlights of the mundane.

We added spider webs to the bats.

Our neighbors made a creepy zombie pumpkin that Adi has to inspect for 10 minutes before we can get her into the car.

This girl discovered the joys of walking through piles of leaves.

(And we were 10 minutes late for church because of it.)

We went to Kenz's Halloween office party last night and this little bug had fun.

She painted a pumpkin, played some games, trick-or-treated...

found a friend, and went for a ride on the pumpkin cart.

You would have thought it was the best day of her life.
